Chandigarh, May 23- Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, SCs & BCs Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister , Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi on Saturday  chaired a meeting of the District Development and Monitoring Committee in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat, Fatehabad.

 

In the meeting, approval was granted for the development works to be undertaken under the District Development Plan for the year 2026–27.

 

It was informed in the meeting that under the District Development and Monitoring Committee, various development works worth Rs. 13 crore 29 lakh 41 thousand will be undertaken in the district this year. Out of this, Rs. 7 crore 40 lakh 89 thousand has been allocated for development works in the general category, while Rs. 5 crore 88 lakh 52 thousand has been earmarked for development works for the Scheduled Caste category.

 

The Cabinet Minister directed the officers that all approved development works should be completed within the stipulated time frame so that no grant lapses occur. He said that maintaining quality in development works is the primary responsibility of the officers and any negligence in construction work will not be tolerated.

 

He further directed the officers to expedite the construction works under  the Committee and to work with a positive approach and better coordination.

 

Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi  further directed that the concerned officers should inspect the development works from time to time, and if any issue arises, it should be brought to his notice immediately so that it can be resolved in time.

 

It was informed in the meeting that under the District Development Plan for the financial year 2025–26, an amount of Rs. 14 crore 86 lakh 32 thousand had been approved. Out of this, Rs. 8 crore 91 lakh 79 thousand was allocated for the general category and Rs. 5 crore 94 lakh 53 thousand for Scheduled Caste development works. Furthermore, under the 2026–27 plan, Rs. 10 crore 33 lakh 50 thousand will be spent in rural areas and Rs. 2 crore 95 lakh 91 thousand in urban areas.

 

Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi directed the officers to ensure inspection of ongoing development works under the District Development Plan so that development projects are completed in a time-bound and transparent manner.

 

Tohana MLA, Sh. Paramvir Singh , Ratia MLA, Sh. Jarnail Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Vivek Bharti, ADC, Sh. Anurag Dhalia, along with officers of various departments  also remained present on this occasion.
