Chandigarh, May 30 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that Devi Ahilyabai Holkar set an exemplary model of public service, welfare and good governance that continues to inspire people even centuries later. He said society should move forward in the fields of education, unity and service by following her ideals.
The Minister was addressing a programme organised at Pal Dharamshala in Arjun Nagar, Yamunanagar, as the Chief Guest on the occasion of the 301st birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar.
He said that during her reign, Ahilyabai Holkar always placed public welfare at the highest priority, and her life remains a source of inspiration for society even today.
On the occasion, the Minister announced a grant for establishing a library at Pal Dharamshala. He said the library would provide better study facilities to students and youth and help them prepare for competitive examinations.
Several officers and distinguished members of society remained present on the occasion.
