Haryana Sports Department launches statewide ‘Khel Pe Charcha’ initiative from Jind

Chandigarh, August 24- The Haryana Sports Department has launched a new initiative aimed at familiarising the state’s athletes with modern sporting techniques, sports injury management, high-performance training and the practical challenges of competitive sports. The first edition of the state-level ‘Khel Pe Charcha’ programme was successfully organised on Monday at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind.

 

Haryana Minister of State for  Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Gaurav Gautam, who attended the programme as the chief guest, interacted directly with young athletes and responded to their questions. The interaction also provided an opportunity to understand the experiences, challenges at the grassroots and expectations of the players.

 

‘Khel Pe Charcha’ to reach every district

 

Addressing the athletes, Sh. Gaurav Gautam said the initiative, launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, will not remain confined to one city. ‘Khel Pe Charcha’ will be organised in every district of Haryana in a phased manner to ensure direct and transparent engagement among the government, sports experts and athletes training on the ground.

 

He said ‘Khel Pe Charcha’ is not merely a formal platform, but a meaningful forum for the exchange of knowledge, science and experience. Such interactions will provide athletes with technical guidance while helping them channel their talent in the right direction.

 

Experts share insights on performance and injury management

 

Experts and prominent personalities from the sporting fraternity shared their experience and expertise with athletes during different sessions of the programme.

 

Elite Boxing Coach Sh. T.L. Gupta, who has nearly 40 years of experience, conducted a session on ‘Novices to Youth Boxing – Its Development in Haryana’. He familiarised budding boxers with the progression from the beginner level to national and international competition, along with scientific training techniques

 

Dr. Rajesh Rohilla, Head of the Sports Injury Department at PGIMS Rohtak, guided athletes on prevention of sports injuries, immediate first aid and scientifically managed return to play following an injury.

Ms. Poonam Beniwal, High-Performance Manager with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), shared insights on managing pressure at the elite level and maintaining consistently high performance.

 

Para-Olympian Rampal Chahal’s journey inspires young athletes

 

A key highlight of the programme was the inspiring journey of Para-Olympian Sh. Rampal Chahal. He shared his experiences of overcoming difficult struggles and challenges while remaining firmly committed to sports, inspiring the young athletes present in the auditorium with renewed enthusiasm and determination.

 

During the cultural session, singer Vishvajeet Choudhary entertained the gathering with his performances.

 

State Government committed to providing world-class sporting facilities

 

Sports Minister Sh. Gaurav Gautam said Haryana’s talented athletes continue to make the state and the country proud through their performances on the global stage. The State Government is committed to ensuring that every sporting talent in Haryana has access to world-class training, modern infrastructure and expert guidance.

 

He said these facilities and support will enable athletes to realise their full potential in international competitions and bring laurels to Haryana and the country.

 

At the conclusion of the programme, the Sports Minister honoured the invited experts and guests with mementoes in recognition of their contribution to the event.

 

Coaches from various sports disciplines, senior officers of the Sports Department and a large number of young athletes were present on the occasion.
