Chandigarh, August 24- Haryana Minister of State for Sports Sh. Gaurav Gautam chaired a meeting of the District Grievances Committee at Jind on Monday. A total of 13 complaints were taken up for resolution, of which 10 were resolved on the spot, while officers concerned were given necessary directions for detailed examination of the remaining three cases.

 

Taking up a complaint regarding the provision of required facilities as per norms along the NHAI stretch passing through Jind, Sh. Gaurav Gautam sought detailed information from the inquiry officer. After considering the report of the complainant, he directed that the remaining work be completed at the earliest.

 

Taking serious note of the absence of any NHAI officer from the meeting, the Minister of State directed that the matter be formally brought to the notice of the Secretary, NHAI, through a written notice.

 

In the meeting, the matter was also taken up regarding the issue of BPL families in Bibipur village who were allotted plots in 2012 but have been unable to construct houses because of an electricity line passing over the plots. Taking cognisance of the matter, Sh. Gaurav Gautam directed the officer concerned to send a proposal to the Director, Development and Panchayats Department, for shifting the four affected plots to adjoining Panchayat land. The Additional Deputy Commissioner was entrusted with examining the matter.

 

In another case concerning the school at Gatauli village, students highlighted problems related to dilapidated classrooms, inadequate sanitation arrangements, a dirty drain passing through the school premises and insufficient drinking water.

 

Taking strict note of the situation, the Minister of State issued strict directions for immediate construction of a temporary boundary wall separating the school from the drain, installation of an additional water tank and regular maintenance of proper cleanliness at the school.

 

Regarding repair of the dilapidated building, departmental officers informed the committee chairman that a proposal seeking budget approval had been sent to the Director, Education Department. Four new classrooms will be constructed once the budget is received.

 

Sh. Gaurav Gautam said the State Government is working with sensitivity and commitment to resolve the problems faced by citizens. The purpose of District Grievances Committee meetings is to ensure time-bound and transparent redressal of public grievances so that citizens do not face unnecessary difficulties.

 

Complaints concerning various departments were discussed in detail during the meeting. The Minister of State directed officers to ensure that all public grievances are resolved within the stipulated timeframe, making it clear that negligence in matters concerning citizens will not be tolerated.

 

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma and Superintendent of Police  Sh. Kuldeep Singh, officers of various departments and non-official members of the Grievances Committee also remained present at the meeting.
