Chandigarh, August 29, 2026 – The Election Commission of India has once again revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Haryana. As per the revised schedule, claims and objections can be filed from July 31 to September 30, 2026. Claims and objections will be disposed of from July 31 to October 28. Under the revised schedule, the final electoral roll will now be published on November 6.

 

Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Sh. A. Sreenivas said that the Election Commission has revised the dates keeping in view the interests of the voters of the state. The extension will provide relief to eligible citizens who, for any reason, could not file a claim or objection relating to the electoral roll within the stipulated period.

 

He said that the Commission is working to ensure that the name of every eligible Indian citizen in the state is included in the electoral roll and that the particulars of electors enrolled therein are accurate and error-free.

 

If the name of any eligible person is not included in the electoral roll, a claim for inclusion of the name can be submitted through Form 6 along with the requisite documents and declaration. So far, a total of 87,262 Form 6 applications have been received. Besides, 6,167 Form 7 applications and 79,246 Form 8 applications have been received.

 

The Election Commission has so far issued 41,59,707 notices, while 21,98,288 objections have been disposed of.

 

All citizens have been urged to check their names and particulars in the electoral roll. In case of any discrepancy, they should file the requisite claim or objection within the prescribed period.
